Commissioner inspects rapid transport bus system pace of work

Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafique Malik has visited Rapid Bus Transit System from Niazi Chowk to Faisal Town Mor where he reviewed the road safety arrangements besides the pace of construction work on various points of the project.

and Commissioner Office Project Coordinator Col. (R) Younas Bharola were also present on the occasion.

Giving briefing to the Commissioner regarding public road safety, the Chief Traffic Officer, informed that in order to minimize the difficulties being faced by the masses a comprehensive traffic plan had been devised under the traffic plan corrugated ironed sheets, empty barrels and cautionary tap had been put on both sides of the road where construction work was underway so that the passers-by might not faced any difficulty. At that the Commissioner directed the CTO to put reflectors on both sides of the passage and to remove impediments from the alternative routs. On that occasion, the Commissioner made it clear to the officers that the protection to the lives and property of the masses was the top priority of the government and impressed upon them that all available resources be utilized in order to ensure the safe commutation of the masses during the Bus Rapid Project construction work. He directed that all the officers of the concerned departments and he himself would examine the construction work on the project twice a week during the day and at night till the completion of the project as directed by the Chief Minister Punjab so that no short coming was left in the project being constructed for the convenience of the masses.
