Lahore: Motorways Police has ” for two days under the direct supervision of DIG N-5 Central Rai Altaf Hussain at the special eve of Eid ul Fiter.
As per directions of IG NH&MP Zafar Abbas Lak the officers of Motorway Police distributed ‘Iftar’ packets, bottles of mineral water and flowers among the commuters. All the SSPs and DSPs remained on the road to supervise the campaign. Special duties were arranged and extra patrolling vehicles were deployed on patrolling to lend maximum help to the road users especially in the context of Eid ul Fiter rush. The officers were asked to lend maximum help to distressed road users and make a prompt response to Helpline 130 calls.
DIG Rai Altaf Hussain directed the officers of Central Zone to make special arrangements in order to cope with the extraordinary rush of vehicles due to Eid ul Fiter. The officers were asked to check the overloading and overcharging by the Public Service Vehicles and to ensure that the passengers do not jeopardize their safety by travelling on the roof of the buses. The officers were further asked to coordinate with National Highways Authority to arrange extra staff at all toll plazas to avoid choking of traffic. He asked the officers to treat the commuters by upholding high standards of morals, exchange Eid greetings with them and take a lenient view of their minor violations on this special eve.
