Lahore: The Punjab Information Technology Board’s plan9 graduate programme will be launched in the first week of September. A spokesman of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), while giving details in this regard informed that this programme will provide free of cost access to infrastructure including office spaces, utilities, laptops, stipend incentives legal / financial / marketing support to IT start ups, additionally PITB is partnering with leading IT experts in Pakistan and globally for training and access to investor network.
The spokesman further said that this programme will help raise awareness among IT based SMEs for innovation whilst building confidence among local business community to invest in technology ventures. He said that decision about launching of plan9 programme was taken in first meeting of board of advisors. The board members include Babar Ahmad (CEO, Mindstorm Studios), Badar Khushnood (Country Consultant, Google), Umer Saif (Chairman PITB), Jehan Ara (President, P@SHA), Khurram Zafar (CIO, Lahore Stock Exchange), Zafar Khan (CEO, Sofizar) and Zia Imran (CEO Vahzay). The board also approved a talent hunt programme to be launched in major cities across Pakistan.
