Lahore: An air-show will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day on August 14 and the students of various schools will appear in the getup of national heroes. Besides strict security arrangements, 400 national volunteers along with police officials will perform duties on this occasion. This was told to Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan during a censor rehearsal held in connection with celebrations of 14th August at Minar-e-Pakistan, today. Rana Mashhood especially witnessed the rehearsal of small aeroplanes flying from ring road and landing at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14. The number of aeroplanes will be 50 and these will take off from Ring Road. Pakistani flags will be hoisted on these aeroplanes, which after flying an hour, will land in the center of Minar-e-Pakistan. Rana Mashhood also photographed with male and female students presenting themselves in the getup of Quaid-e-Azam, Mohterma Fatima Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. A large number of people desired to photograph with these students. Rana Mashhood directed that photographs of those persons be made free of cost who raise slogan of Pakistan Zindabad and Qiaud-e-Azam Zindabad so that these slogans should continue to echo at Minar-e-Pakistan for a long time.
DCO Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, DG Sports Usman Anwer, Additional Commissioner Dr. Usman, Deputy Secretary Information Tahir Raza Hamdani and senior officers of Police, Traffic and Special Branch were present on this occasion. Rana Mashhood ordered for making special arrangements for traffic, security and parking on August 14. The pictorial exhibition of national heroes will also be exhibited on the same day. He also directed officers of district administrations to make special arrangements of sanitation in the city on this day and “Iftari” arrangements for about five thousand persons should also be made. He also directed DG sports that such programmes should be made a permanent feature of Punjab Youth Sports Festival.
