NHMP saved precious lives by putting out the fire of a running bus

Lahore: National Highways & Motorway Police N-5 Central saved many precious lives by putting out the fire of a running bus which caught fire on national highway near Ahmad Pur besides recovering 07 abducted members of a family after arresting 02 kidnappers near Zahir Pir.

NH&MP N-5 Central patrolling officers observed that the roof of a bus bearing registration no. FSB-797 had caught fire beyond the knowledge of passengers and bus crew. The bus was boarded by 45 passengers. The officers chased the bus and stopped it besides a small canal. With the help of local people the fire of the bus was extinguished and probable loss of life and property was saved by the timely action of Motorway Police. Separately, Motorway Police N-5 Central rescued 08 members of a family including 07 children and their mother kidnapped from district Jehlum. The two kidnappers namely Mehboob Nawaz and Muhammad Zarfar r/o Rahim Yar Khan were also arrested. On the directions of DIG N-5 Central Rai Altaf Hussain the arrested criminals and rescued family were handed over to local police for further legal action.

IG NH&MP Zafar Abbas Luk appreciated the efforts of the officers and granted them Commendation Certificates and cash rewards for the excellent performance of duties.
