IGP reinstates hundreds of suspended police officials

Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rehman has reinstated all uniform personnel of Punjab Police who were currently under suspension pursuant of the PEEDA Act 2006.

Whereas, the officials involving in allegations of corruption, or against whom disciplinary proceedings were instituted in compliance with the court orders should not be reinstated.

According to Punjab Police spokesperson ,this decision was taken due to the general law and order situation in the province, sectarian and religious factors, increased activities during the holy month of Ramadan at mosques, madrassas, and similar religious establishments, shortage of police strength and to avoid any untoward incident relating to terrorism,
