Punjab Police farewell party to new DG FIA

Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rehman has said that Officers like Anwar Virk are the real asset of Punjab Police and we are proud of his services and his appointment as D.G FIA.

Inspector General of Police’s remarks were delivered by Addl: IGP, Punjab, Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan in a farewell meeting held at Central Police Office Punjab, Lahore. DIG Headquarters, Muhammad Tahir, DIG R&D Muhammad Amlish, DIG Investigation Punjab, Ali Aamir Malik, AIG Admin, Suhail Sukhera, AIG Training, Maqsood-ul-Hassan, AIG Operations, Sahibzada Shehzad Sultan and SSP Sajjad Manj were also present in the meeting.

D.G FIA Anwar VIrk also paid glorious tribute to IGP for extending his extra ordinary cooperation, supervision and trust.

D.G FIA Anwar Virk was born in 1958 in Sialkot. He got his masters degree in Economics from Punjab University. He joined police services in 1981 as ASP and served till 1987 in Islamabad, Karachi, Haiderabad, Sanghar and D.I Khan. After getting promotion as SP in 1987 he performed his duties in Pakistan Narcotics Control Board, Lahore, Islamabad and also served as SP CIA Gujranwala and Layyah. In 1997 he was promoted as SSP and served in CID, Lahore, Pakpattan and as DPO Jhelum. Anwar Virk become DIG in 2005 and posted in Elite Police Force, Lahore. He also served as CCPO Lahore in 2007. He served for Pakistan Railways as DIG from 2008 to 2011. After being promoted as Addl: IG in 2011 he served as Addl: IG R&D, Punjab from where he relinquished his charge today.
