Lahore:In order to root out the menace of terrorism from the society, the Field Officers should take civil society, political leaders, religious scholars, and media into confidence so that the monster of terrorism could be eradicated with their active support. For this purpose, the police must implement preventive policing strategy to avoid any further untoward incident like that of Rasool Park.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman while presiding over a high-level meeting held at the office of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sahiwal today. All the district police officers (DPOs) of Sahiwal Region and other senior officers attended the meeting.
The IGP directed the police officers to tighten the screw around the terrorists so that any possible terror attempt could be thwarted in future.
The provincial police chief further directed the police to prepare the lists of top-10 and top-20 criminals in their respective areas and intensify vigilance of suspected elements.
The IGP also the lauded efforts of RPO Sahiwal, Farooq Mazhar, DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Ayyaz Saleem, DPO Okara Dr Abid Ali, and DPO Pakpattan Jahanzaib Nazir for bringing down overall crime rate in the region.
Meanwhile, IGP awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates among the police officers of Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan districts for showing outstanding performance in arresting the criminals. Those awarded prizes included Inspector Masood Javed, SI Allah Ditta, ASI Rahmat Ali, Head Constable Muhammad Hafeez and Constable Muhammad Nadeem from Sahiwal district. Inspector Tasawwar, SI Zahid Ramazan, TASI Kashif Manzoor, Head Constable Zulifqar Ali, and Constable Amanat Ali from Okara district and Inspector Muhammad Afzal, SI Muhammad Imran Tipu, TASI Sibghat Ullah, and Constable Hassan Raza from Pakpattan district.
