Commissioner Lahore Division holds Peace Committee Meeting

Commissioner Lahore Division, Jawad Rafique Malik and Member National Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmed has emphasized the ulema of different school of thoughts to play their active role for maintaining brotherhood and stability in the country from their platforms and to unveil those spreading sectarianism.

They were presiding over a meeting of Divisional Peace Committee held to review the issues of Ramazan ul Mubarak at Commissioners office, here today. The Commissioner said to the Ulema that they should raise an effective voice to promote religious harmony among the people. He further said that they should also educate the people about the brothoerhoodness and religious harmony so that they could perform their religious and worldly affairs with improved manner. The Commissioner made it clear that no thought provoking speeches, writings and wall chalking would be allowed. He further emphasized that Ulema should conduct a anti-dengue and anti-polio awareness campaign among the people in the Jumma congregations. In the meeting, the Ulema presented their proposals with regard to security, loadshedding and parking on which the Commissioner assured that implementation would be made on the positive proposals.

The meeting was attended by DCOs and DPOs of all the four districts and officers of all concerned department besides Allama Mushtaq Jaffari, Basharat Hussain, Maulana Abdul Khabeer, Alhaj Haider Ali Mira, Pirzada Usman Noori, Maulana Arif Sialvi, Abdul Wahab Ropari and other ulemas
