Lahore:As many As 13 accused of 3 gangs involved in street crime, motorcycle theft and snatching were arrested by CIA police Iqbal Town on the instructions of Muhammad Aslam Tareen Addl, IG/CCPO and recovering 11 motorcycles valuing 5 lacks 60 thousands rupees, 5-pistols rounds and Rs 1,95,000 cash from the accused.
CCPO Tareen directed DIG, Investigation and SP CIA, Umer Virk to initiate steps for curbing street crime and motorcycle theft & snatching incidents besides effecting recovery of the stolen one’s, who found a team headed by incharge CIA, Iqbal Town Mian Shafqat which included SI Maqsood Hayat and other officials. The said team work day & night which resulted in busting of three gangs and arrested its 13memebers.
According to SP CIA, Umer Virk accused Nasir Iqbal, Bilal alias Bilali and Khalid Mehmood were record sheeters in 11, 3 & 7 cases respectively while accused Ijaz alias Ghantti and Usman were proclaimed offenders of PS Islampura, Lahore. Nasir Iqbal and Bilal were known names of the crime world since 2006 while Khalid Mehmood had been associated with the crime world since 2009 and they had been challaned in number of cases, earlier. Nasir & Bilal were released from jail in 2008 while Khalid Mehmood was released in 2009 and all three of them formed their separate gangs which committing offenses in the precincts of different police stations in Lahore.
