Strategy formulated to ensure smooth flow of traffic

Lahore:A comprehensive strategy has been formulated to ensure smooth flow of traffic and to remove other hitches during the completion phase of Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) in Lahore. All the government departments would work in close collaboration to play their effective role in the completion of the project so that the people would be able to carry out routine working without facing any hindrance.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman while addressing the first meeting of the BRTS Project committee, constituted by the Chief Minister Punjab. The meeting was held at the Central Police Office today to finalise the arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic in Lahore during the upcoming monsoon and during the completion of the BRTS Project.

Lahore CCPO Aslam Tareen, DCO Noor-ul-Amin, CTO Dr Usman, Vice President Nespak Azhar Masood, Asrhad Malik, Saif-ur-Rehman (TEPA), Chief Engineer TEPA Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, MPA Mazhar Hussain Khan, MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir, MPA Rai Muhammad Islam, MPA Ramazan Bhatti, MPA Dr Saeed Elahi, MPA Hafiz Nauman, Project Director Israr Sahi, Sara Khan LTC and In-Charge Security Traffic Muhammad Sarwar attended the meeting.

The IGP, who is also chairman of the committee, directed the members that a proper publicity and awareness campaign should be launched to guide the public about the alternative traffic routes during the completion phase of the 32-Km long BRTS Project.
