Shan Khusro sent to jail for murdering his friend

Lahore: Burki Police have sent Additional Federal Secretary Khusro Pervaiz’s son Shan Khusro to jail on judicial remand for killing his friend Hamza Elahi. The victim’s family fears that police may change the murder into a ‘murder by mistake’ owing to senior bureaucrat’s influence on the police.

After the week-long physical remand Barki Police produced accused Shan Khusro Pervaiz before Judicial Magistrate Qaiser Amam. Malik Tariq and requested the court that probe against the accused had been completed and there was no need for further remand.

Quoting the investigation report, the police officer said Shan had deliberately murdered his friend Hamza because he nurtured grudge against him. The evidence, as well as statements of Hamza’s mother and sister, declared Shan as assailant, said the officer, adding that the deceased had been shot in the head from a close range.

The Investigation officer further said the police had recovered the weapon and vehicle used in the murder, and requested the court to send Shan to jail on judicial remand.

Talking to the media, Sheikh Fazal Elahi, who is a trader of Shah Alam Market, said he had reliable information about Khusro Pervaiz’s pressure on the police. “I fear the police would convert the case into that of accidental murder to save the culprit,” he added.

Hamza, an O-Level student, was found shot in the head on June 2 night along a road in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The police took his body into custody and contacted his family through the cell phone found on his body.
