Lahore:YDA’s strike continues on 18th day despite the claims made by Punjab Law Minister.
Punjab government Wednesday night released 24 doctors from jail and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that YDA had called off the strike after successful talks between CM Shahbaz and senior doctors.After claiming that strike had been called off Wednesday night, the Punjab government Thursday dismissed 25 female doctors of Mayo and Jinnah Hospital.Meanwhile, Punjab govt have released four doctors who were arrested on charges of murder.
YDA said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was distorting the facts and misinforming the public, adding doctors had only announced that they would perform their duties in emergency wards for sake of the patients.
Though doctors of Army Medical Corps are performing the duties in civil hospital, the situation in hospitals is far from satisfactory, as number of patients is too large to be handled by army doctors.
Operations of patients are being postponed as there are no doctors available for anesthesia.Relatives of the patients say they have no money for taking their patients to private hospitals.
