Islamabad:Senior Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior, Rehman Malik on Wednesday apprised Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf about the steps taken by the law enforcement agencies to ensure safe passage of NATO supplies en route to Afghanistan through Pakistani territory. The meeting held at the Prime Minister House also discussed the issue of Machine Readable Passports (MRP). The Prime Minister directed the Advisor on Interior to ensure, at the earliest, the MRP facility to all the overseas Pakistanis through the missions abroad.
Earlier Rehman Malik directed Secretary Interior to work out detailed plan and modalities to ensure safety and security of the containers. He was chairing an emergency meeting after opening of ground location of communication (GLOC) in pursuance of decisions of Defence Committee of Cabinet (DCC) meeting. The Advisor reviewed the location, supply and discussed the whole matter with the concerned Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to ensure safety of containers.
