This was said by him while addressing the inaugural ceremony of new Ravi Bridge Check post. He said that these check posts have been given wireless link with the central control room enabling effective communication and apprehension of criminals trying to sneak out of city in the event of some crime having taken place.
These posts have been equipped with the state of art camera surveillance system which would be accessible by the CCPO and other concerned officers enabling them with on the spot surveillance capacity while sitting in their offices. Old staff has been replaced with efficient and effective officers and officials for enabling better performance.
Tareen said that by provision of modern facilities and state of art equipment the capacity of police towards crime fighting increases many folds. He appreciated the cooperation extended by Medicam Group of Companies in setting up these posts and said that a number of other initiatives with the help of well to do people who wished to reform society by provision of needed facilities to police were in the pipeline. Besides a scheme for identification of vehicles with fake number plates through computer chip technology, CCTV Cameras will be installed along important roads and intersection for beefing up monitoring capacity. Trackers will be installed in police vehicles for better coordination and surveillance of the staff engaged in patrolling. Mobile phones will be provided to all SHOs so that in the event of transfer of some individual, the SHO’s number doesn’t change enabling better coordination and communication.
DIG Operations Rai Tahir, SSP D&I Shariq Kamal, SP Mujahid Rumail Akram, Zafar Riaz, Hafeez Ahmed Nainitalwala and others concerned were present in the inaugural ceremony where commemorative shields were also presented to those rendering valuable services towards establishment of the posts.
Later DIG Operations Rai Tahir and SSP D&I Shariq Kamal inaugurated old Ravi Bridge and Sherakot check posts.
