Lawyers role in national affairs is very important: Deputy Prime Minister

Lahore:Deputy Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader Ch Parvez Elahi has said that our role in the interests of the country and the nation has always been quite active and effective and we have taken revolutionary steps and established institutions for the welfare of the people and professional growth of professionals of different fields during our tenure.

He said this while talking to the representative delegations of lawyers and other organizations who came to his residence here today to felicitate him on assuming the office of the Deputy Prime Minister. They presented him bouquets and garlanded him.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that the lawyers role in national affairs is very important . He said after the election some parties thought PML role in national politics has ended but our role in national affairs and interests has always been very active and effective and it is before everyone.

He said in the election of all bar associations including the Supreme Court and the Lahore High Court and its different benches PML lawyers have been playing key role.
Ch Parvez Elahi maintained that by setting up of the institution of Prosecution we had taken a step to provide cheap and quick justice to the people and we wanted to carry it further also. He said the importance and utility of our institutions established by us for peoples welfare and professional services is duly recognized and acknowledged internationally.

He said the lawyers affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League and the Peoples Party are a big force and they should work together and play active and effective role in every bar . He said that we attach great importance to the welfare and well-being of the lawyers community and for further steps in this regard , a lawyers convention would shortly be convened.

Senior lawyer and PML Lawyers Wing Punjab President Alamgir and other lawyers on this occasion fully supported and endorsed the stance of Ch Parvez Elahi and said that by establishing the institution of prosecution, for the first time in Asia, Ch Parvez Elahi had greatly benefitted the people and the lawyers.
On this occasion, PML Lawyers Wing Punjab President Alamgir also spoke. The lawyers delegation included President Lahore Bar Raafi Ahmad, General Secretary Mian Tabussum, Zaman Qureshi, Jahangir Jhoja, Gauhar Butt, Arshad Nisar, Arshad Qureshi, Tayyab Rana, Aslam Sindhu,Muhammad Farhat Chaudhry, Mian Arshad, Nisar Kausar,Muhammad Iqbal, Nasir Inayat and Shahid Bhutta among others.
