Longest flyover of South Asia would be completed this year

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that traders’ community is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and has always played an important role in the country’s progress and development. He said that traders have donated generously in the time of need including flood, earthquake or any other natural disaster. He said that loadshedding has made the life of the people miserable and energy crisis has ruined the national economy. He said that had the rulers any love for the country they would not have pushed it into darkness through their loot, plunder and extravagant spending. He said that there is a need to get rid of Ali Baba and 40 Thieves to provide relief to the poor.

He was addressing a function arranged by Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ferozepur Road in a local hotel, here today. Representatives of traders’ organizations and a large number of businessmen attended the function.

The Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the energy crisis has made the life of the people miserable. He said that people must protest against loadshedding but should not damage public and private property. He said that no patriotic person will damage national assets but some mischievous elements have entered in the ranks of people on the pretext of protest who should be kicked out. He said that it is our political, religious and national obligation to protect national property. He said that stern legal action would be taken if anyone tried to damage property. He said pivot of politics of PML-N is to serve the masses that is why billions of rupees are being spent on provision of facilities to them. He said that air-conditioned buses are being plied in Lahore, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi in order to provide best travelling facilities to the people and these buses would also be plied in other cities of the province. Metro bus service is a marvelous project and for this purpose, longest flyover of South Asia which will be eight km long is being constructed from Ichhra to Town Hall which will be completed this year, he added. He said that the country would be put on the road to progress and prosperity under the able leadership of President PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and every sacrifice would be made for its survival and integrity. He said that complete protection would be provided to the traders.

President Anjuman-e-Tajran Pakistan Abdul Mannan and President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ferozepur Road Mahboob Ali Sirki thanked Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for protecting the business interests of the traders of Ferozepur Road during construction of Kalma Chowk and Muslim Town flyovers. MPA Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman also addressed the function.
