Govt to increase investment in education: President Zardari

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday said the government is continuously increasing investment in education and research and will allocate more financial resources for the sector in years ahead.

Addressing Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Presidents of Universities of Muslim countries here, he said universities and institutions of higher learning have always played critical role in the human, social and economic development of nations. “As human knowledge makes great strides the role of the universities as centers of research, teaching and excellence has become even more critical,” he said adding, “To us, the Muslims, acquiring knowledge is part of our faith.
