Now fruits markeets would be registered

Lahore:Provincial Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali presided over a meeting of the committee constituted for registration of Punjab fruits and vegetable cooperative society. Advisor to Chief Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Commissioner Lahore, Secretary Cooperative, Secretary Agriculture and the representatives of DCO Lahore attended the meeting.

Secretary Cooperative while giving briefing regarding aims and objectives of establishing Punjab fruits and vegetable cooperative society informed that a society comprising persons having good repute will be set up in private sector under this project which will purchase agricultural land around Lahore or get it on lease and cultivate fruits and vegetables on self help basis. He said that due to this step not only fresh fruits and vegetables will be available to the local people at cheaper rates but the prices of these items will reduce considerably in the market which will result in elimination of unemployment.

The committee after deliberations directed to constitute a technical committee for making this project viable which will submit its report within next two days after considering all aspects.
