Motorway Police encounter with the car snatchers

Lahore:National Highways & Motorway Police N-5 Central have arrested a member of car snatcher gang after having encounter with the culprits on national highway.

According to details the officers of NH&MP SPO Akif Nishat and PO Akram were busy in speed checking of the vehicles near Checha watni when they were informed by the Sahiwal control that a Corolla car LED 5269 had been snatched by the armed persons. In the meanwhile the officers stopped a speeding Corolla car with registration number LED 5229 with five persons boarding the same. On suspicion that it might be the same snatched car, the officers started search of the car. Meanwhile two persons came out of the car and started firing at Motorway Police officers. PO Ikram received a bullet in his leg. After exchange of fire one culprit naming Asad Maqbool r/o Checha watni was arrested while other were managed to escape in the car. The injured officer was taken to hospital where his condition is ok now. Zonal Commander Nisar Saroya has appreciated the brave effort of the officers and awarded them commendation certificate and cash reward.
