Education is the top priority:Minister Education

Lahore:Minister Education Punjab Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that education is the top priority of the provincial government and the government has taken new initiatives on the provision of standardized education at school level. He said that Rs. One billion stipend is being distributed in the girl students belonging to remote and deprived areas to encourage female education. He said that government has step-up endowment fund with rupees 10 billion, talented and deserving students are gating scholarship for higher studies.

He expressed these views at the cheque distribution ceremony to the deserving students at Government Girls Inter College, CDG Boys Middle School and Junior Model School at Data Nagar, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs. 6,21,000, 3,85,200 and 1,02,600 respectively. The Minister announced that after the summer vacations the Girls Inter College classes will be held at its new building and it would be upgraded Degree College.

Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman told that Punjab Government has provided a sum of Rs. 10 billion to promote school education in the marginalized strata and 1.5 million deserving students in the 36 districts would be benefited during current year. He told that a sum of Rs. 46 billion will be spent on the school education sector to elevate it according to international standards.
