HRC demands judicial inquiry of journalist killing

Islamabad:Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has demanded the government to  Constitute an independent judicial commission to conduct an immediate inquiry in the killing of Baloch journalist Razzaq Gul case.

 Razzaq Gul, was working for an electronic channel ‘Express TV’ at Turbat, District Kech, Balochistan Pakistan. He was also office bearer of the Turbat Press Club and Finance Secretary of Baloch National Movement. According to his family he was abducted on Friday evening, May 18, 2012 from near his residence. He was kidnapped and killed by unknown people. His bullet riddled body was found dumped at a deserted area near the old civil hospital, Turbat, District Kech on morning of May 19, 2012. 
Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has demanded the authorites to Constitute an independent judicial commission to conduct an immediate inquiry in this and earlier extra-judicial killings, with a view to identify, arrest and prosecute the killers.Stop disappearances and extra-judicial killings in the region. Give adequate compensation to families of the victims Take meaningful measures to reduce risks to journalists, political activists and human rights defenders. It is worth mentioning that a number of journalists/political activists have been murdered in Balochistan in recent past.
