Govt to increase the salary of federal workers: Siraj ul Haq

Lahore : Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Siraj ul Haq has asked the rulers to at least announce 10 percent increase in the salaries of the federal government employees as it is impossible to meet both ends for a salaried person in the prevailing circumstances.

Talking to the delegation of the Federation for Federal Government Employees on Tuesday, he said the ruling party failed to honor its commitment that it will run the government affairs on merit.

He said the demands of the federal government servants were not addressed in previous tenures while it was expected that the PTI government will listen to their demands. But, he added, no up-gradation policy was announced for them despite passage of two years. The promotion was also not given to the low-grade employees contrary to policy adopted for the provincial government servants, he added, demanding the rulers immediately address the demands of the government servants.

The JI chief said the different crises engulfed the country but the
rulers were least concerned to address them. Petrol shortages
were still haunting the citizens and reports were circulating about
the looming crisis of the LPG, he said, regretting the government
was also failed to acts against the Sugar mafia and against those
who created fake wheat crisis and earned billions of rupees
through it.

He said the health, education and agriculture sectors were on the verge of collapse due to failed policies of the rulers.
