No ventilator available in any Hospital

Lahore : Despite tall claims of minister Health Dr Yasmin Rashid , ventilators are not available in any public hospital . People have to move one to another hospital to save the lives of their near and dears but they receive only one answer that ” Ventilator is not available”.

Though Punjab Government has set up a helpline for Covid-19 patients which help the people on telephone to the concerned in which hospital ventilator is available .But it is none of use as their info do not honoured by the hospital administration.

A youth Mian Aatif said that his father diagnosed with Corona , he was feeling difficulty to take breath so he took him to Lahore General Hospital emergency where no ventilator was available so he managed oxygen cylinder in order to ease him to take breath.

He called helpline setup by Punjab Government for Corona Patients which guide him that ventilators available at Mayo Hospital ,Services Hospital ,Jinnah Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital . You may take your patient to any hospital . I rather to shift my father send my cousins to these hospital for confirmation of ventilator’s availability on the advice of Dr before discharging the patient but received one reply from all hospitals that Ventilator is not available” Mian Atif told.

The ventilators, which are used to blow oxygen into a patient’s lungs, are an essential equipment for the treatment of severe cases of Covid-19. In such cases, lung inflammation can develop into viral pneumonia, requiring breathing support.

As the number of confirmed cases continues to increase with every passing day, the Punjab badly needed ventilators in sufficient quantity for the management of critical virus patients.
