Lahore : Blaming the past and the present governments for the destruction of the health sector in the country, Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that had the governments done their duty, the country would not have to look up to the US for medical equipment and related items. He was talking to the media during his visit to the corona relief camp of the Al_Khidmat Foundation at Multan, Thursday.
Sirajul Haq said that as and when the governments set up relief fund, the system of its distribution was never satisfactory. He said the government had not provided financial relief even to twenty five per cent of the people affect due to the corona virus. He said that if the Prime Minister had set up a national action plan for corona control, the government and the opposition would have been on one page at this time.
Local JI leaders besides Al- Khidmat foundation leaders were present o tehoccasion.
Referring to the continuing lock down in Held Kashmir, the JI Chief said the Indian government was using corona as a weapon against the Kashmiris. He called for a special OIC meeting to discuss the Indian atrocities in the valley.
Sirajul Haq visited the Nishtar Hospital Multan. He deplored that more than 26 doctors of the Nishtar hospital had contracted corona.
He said the shortage of funds to combat corona proved that the government did not have any funds for heath emergency. He called for allocating special funds in the next year budget for calamities.
The JI chief said the Minister for Science and Technology had announced that the country was nearing to produce N. 95 masks. However, he said, he was quite doubtful about that.
Sirajul Haq said the government had adopted the Italian method to control the virus instead of the Chinese strategy. He said Italy had suffered heavily for being non-serious in this respect.
He said the government circles were saying that corona would continue for another six months but the government was not prepared for that.
Stating that it was time for a national narrative on Corona, the JI chief urged the government to invite the opposition to evolve a national line of action.
He suggested the government to come out of its egoism, change its approach and seek forgiveness from Allah. Islamic system should be enforced in the country and interest should be abolished forthwith.
Sirajul Haq said there was no need for the Tiger Force, as it would only help strengthen the position of PTI assembly members in their constituencies.
He expressed dissatisfaction on NAB’s performance and said the JI wanted indiscriminate accountability. He said that all those named in the Panama leaks had not been brought to book.
