Millions still awaiting government’s financial help : Siraj ul Haq

Lahore : Ameer Jamaat e Islami Pakistan Senator Siraj ul Haq has called upon the government to reimburse the fare and hotel expenses charged from the overseas Pakistanis returning to the country..

Addressing the provincial leadership of the JI Youth through video link, he said that these people deserved every help in the present situation. He said it was great injustice that the government was charging its citizens returning from abroad and keeping them in quarantine.  JI Youth president Zubair Ahmed Gondal was present on the occasion.

The JI chief further said that the government was providing financial support only to those who possessed Benazir Income Support cards(BISP) cards. He said that thousands of people had not registered themselves under this BISP and they were being totally ignored.

Siraj ul Haq reiterated his demand for the abolition of interest to speed up business activities. He said that interest was the greatest hurdle in the way of economic development besides being strictly prohibited in Islam. .

The JI chief said the government was not willing to learn from its  mistakes, it was not fulfilling its promises to the nation and implementing its announcements. He said that hundreds of thousands of daily wage earners, labourers and kisans in the country were still awaiting government’s financial help. The government gave them a new hope every day but the next day, there was nothing for them again.  

He said the JI stood by the nation in this hour of trial. Thousands of JI workers and Al-Khidmat volunteers were busy in providing every help and assistance to the needy round the clock. He said the message of hope, goodwill and service the JI Youth had given to the people was commendable. He said that these youth were the real asset of the country and the nation in the days ahead.

JI Provincial heads presented the reports of their activities to the I Chief on the occasion.
