Lahore : Punjab Anti-Corruption team headed by Director Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sargodha Muhammad Shahbaz Hussain Shah today visited model police station in tehsil Kot Momin and inspected construction work of its building.
Expressing grave indignation over the use of material during construction of the building of the police station, Director Anti-Corruption Sargodha Muhammad Shahbaz Hussain Shah directed Building Department Punjab and its contractor to immediately remove the defects of the construction and meet the loss caused to the national exchequer.
Spokesman of the Anti-Corruption Punjab disclosed that defective material was used in the construction of model police station, Kot Momin due to which floor and building appeared to be dilapidated upon which Director Anti-Corruption Sargodha ordered inquiry against officers of Building Department and its contractor. During inspection of the building, Anti-Corruption team took some samples and have its tested from UET Lahore which transpired that defective material was used and later embezzlement of Rs. 2.71 million was found in this regard.
Upon surfacing the causes of use of defective material in the building, Anti-Corruption Sargodha ordered registration of FIR against SDOs Muhammad Riaz and Raja Zawar-ul-Haq and sub-engineers Manzoor Elahi, Munir Ahmed and Farhan Shah as well as contractor Tahir Khan.
