Zahid F Ebrahim resigns as a Additional Attorney General Pakistan

Lahore : Additional Attorney General Pakistan Zahid F Ebrahim has resigned upon reference against senior judges of Sindh High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan terming it an attempt to tar the reputation of the independent individuals.

In a resignation letter to President Dr Arif Alvi , Zahid F Ebrahim said that he was appointed as the Additional Attorney General in November 2018 , it was an honour to serve federation of Pakistan in the Sindh province and lead a team of deputy and assistant Attorney Generals.

Yesterday, it was reported in the press that reference against senior judges filed in Supreme Judicial Council who widely recognised for his unimpeachable integrity.

In his view , this was not about accountability of judges but it is a reckless attempt to tar the reputation of Independent individuals which will cause irreparable damage to the institution which is the protector of our fundamental rights.

In view of the above , I cannot in good conscience continue in office and therefore tender resignation as Additional Attorney General of Pakistan.
