CM Usman Buzdar briefs federal ministers his steps taken in public interest

Lahore : A late night meeting was held in the Punjab House Islamabad today which was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. Ramadan package, New Local Bodies System, secretariat in Southern Punjab was briefed to the Chief Minister in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said the 68 crore rupees is being allocated for Southern Punjab Secretariat. He said that funds are being provided for the development projects and programmes despite the financial difficulties.

Usman Buzdar said that new local bodies system and Panchayat system will eliminate the status co. We are trying to make panchayat system active with in the one year so that process of transferring the power at lower level should be started , he added.

Chief Minister said that 309 Ramadan Bazaars have been established and being strictly monitored . He said that flour bags of 10 kg will be made available in Ramadan Bazaars at the rate of Rs. 290, Similarly, sugar at the rate of Rs. 55 per kg, whereas, prices of ghee and cooking oil have been reduced from 15 to 20 rupees in these Ramadan Bazaars.

He said that 2000 Daster Khawan have been established throughout the province where free of cost food and other eatables would be provided in Sehri and Iftar timings.

Usman Buzdar said that all local bodies’ institutions have been dissolved because these institutions from the very first day of their existence are paralyzed and were burden on the people. Under old local government system people did not get anything.

He said that funds of 40 billion will be spent on the people’s welfare through Village Councils. He said that after dissolving of local bodies institutions stopgap arrangements have been made for providing municipal facilities to the people and administrators have been appointed for this purpose.

Foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that announcement of 68 crore rupees for the secretariat of southern Punjab is a good omen. He said that PTI government will make southern Punjab province which will further strengthened the federation. On this occasion participants gave suggestion for the local bodies system and Ramadan Bazaars.
