Speaker Asad Qaisar promises legislation for special citizens soon

Lahore : Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar has
said that a gift in the form of legislation for special citizens will
be given to the nation soon.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Ayesha Siddique Compassion Homes,
Fountain House Farooqabad, here Friday, he said that it was primary
responsibility of the government to provide basic facilities to
people, but nothing had been done in this regard in the past.
“I feel spiritual relaxation after meeting special citizens,” he said.

He said that those were role models for the rest of the world who
helped others. “When Prime Minister Imran Khan started collecting
charity for Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, I was studying in a
college,” he said and added “now after joining politics, I want to do
something for Shaukat Khanum Hospital and deprived people of society.”
He announced working for the Fountain House as an honorary member.

He said that special villages would be made in all districts for special
citizens in which all modern facilities would be provided. “I came to
meet special citizens though the assembly is in session,” he added.

The speaker said that the government was taking hard decisions for
uplift of the country. He said that an amount of Rs 362 billion was
being allocated for farmers in the upcoming budget and a special
committee had been formed to help the assembly in making laws for
improvement of farmers.

He said that a historical package would be introduced for farmers in
the next budget.

Later, he wished a good future for the Fountain House and its administration.

Earlier, Chairman Management Committee Fountain House Dr Amjad Saqib
gave briefing about the Farooqabad Fountain House project.
