Lahore : Chairman Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Lt. Gen. (R) Maqsood Ahmed called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here on Monday. He presented the performance report to the Chief Minister for the year 2018 and briefed him about the overall performance and role of the PPSC.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that bringing out the best talent, having a passion for public service, is the mission of the government and PPSC has to play an effective role in this regard. Merit will prevail in the new Pakistan because the supremacy of the principles of merit and transparency helps the nations to move forward. In fact, the principle of merit is the only mean of achieving the goal of development and prosperity, he added.
Our government has laid the foundation of a new culture of merit and transparency in the province and recruitments are being made purely on merit. The role of PPSC is important in promoting merit, he added. The Chief Minister expressed the satisfaction that an online interview is a big facility for the candidates and added that every possible cooperation will be extended to the PPSC for making it more active.
He said that construction of a new building at the place of Shimla Pahari office will be reviewed. Similarly, the demand for increasing the paper marking fee will be given sympathetic consideration and other demands will also be considered, the Chief Minister concluded.
Chairman PPSC briefed the Chief Minister that the commission has been made commensurate with the demands of the time through the latest technology. Member PPSC Syed Ibn-e-Abbas was also present on the occasion.
