Lahore : The Director General Punjab Emergency Services, Dr. Rizwan Naseer has said that as per Quaid’s vision Rescue will work jointly with Punjab Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) to promote scouting in Punjab for nation building.
He said that as both organizations are consecrated to bring positive change in the society by developing safer Communities. He also directed the course participants that not only they will implement all these scouting based skills in the rescue operations but also trained the communities at district levels for achieving goal of Safer Pakistan.
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of Scout Leader Training for Lead Fire Rescuers (LFR) as Master Trainer held at Rescue Headquarters Thoker Niaz Baig, Lahore here on Friday.
The Registrar Academy Dr Muhammad Farhan Khalid, Senior Instructor of the Punjab Boy Scout Association & Course Coordinator, Mr Muhammad Adil Farooq, Head of Controller Examinations, Ms Roqiya Bano Javed, joiner officers from academy and others attended the ceremony. This training course was organized by the Emergency Service Academy in collaboration with the Punjab Boy Scouts Association (PBSA). The core theme of this scout Leaders training of operational staff of rescuers was to train the trainers for developing healthy, safe and resilient communities in Pakistan as per provision of Punjab Emergency Service Act 2006.
On this occasion, DG Rescue Punjab that Punjab Emergency Service said that Rescue 1122 had started its Community Safety Program (CSP) to train the one million volunteers through this program with aiming to produce at least one first aider at every home.
He also stressed that it is need of hour to revive the same passion and movement that was started by the first Chief Scout of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, adding that Muhtrama Fatima Jinnah also endorsed this effort for nation building. He also said that only joint efforts can play a very vital role in forming the character of our youth, promoting their physical, mental and spiritual development and making them well-disciplined, useful and good citizens.
He also gave the scout pledge from the all participants and revised characteristics of scout good scout and counted as trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. He also shared with rescuers his own scout training motivational experiences and its difficult aspects.
Earlier participants expressed their views about the skills learnt during the training course under title ‘Scout Leaders’ for Lead Fire Rescuers (LFRs) to enhance the capacity of LFRs as Master Trainers for further training of Rescue Scouts.
In four day long activities all course participants have been trained through lectures presentations and practical skills on whipping & Knots, camp craft, compass & map reading, map making, tent pitching, sign & signals, water filtration techniques & community work, health hygiene, kitchen gardening, back woodsman, responsibilities of leader, expedition and nation building activities.
As well as, all the participants have also been evaluated by the trainers of the Punjab Boy Scouts Association.
Later on, DG Rescue Punjab presented the certificates to the successful participants of the course. He also thanked the Provincial Secretary of Punjab Boy Scouts and team of trainers and also appreciated the Controller of Examinations for organizing training course for operational staff of the Service.
