Lahore : Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar has called upon academicians and regulatory institutions not to compromise over quality of education as there is no other option to progress.
He was addressing the 6th annual Deans and Directors conference on scope of business education in Pakistan jointly organized by Punjab University and National Business Education Accreditation Council (BAEAC) at PU Law College’s auditorium.
NBEAC Chairman Dr Farrukh Iqbal, PU Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences Dean Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen, Dean Faculty of Commerce Prof Dr Mubbsher Munwar Khan, PU Alumni Association Director Dr Fauzia Hadi Ali, deans and directors of business schools of various institutions of higher learning.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof Niaz Ahmad said that it was necessary for all the disciplines to get themselves accredited from relevant accreditation councils. He said that the world was global village and we must produce students of international standard as they were now international citizens.
He said that there was need to provide regular training opportunities to the evaluators as well. He said that accreditation efforts helped improve standard of education.
NBEAC Chairman Dr Farrukh Iqbal said that every challenge is an opportunity. He said that NBAEC was working for ensuring high standards in business education in Pakistan and all stakeholders must extend cooperation in this regard. He paid rich tribute to former rector of University of Management and Technology Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad for his outstanding contribution towards education.
