ahore : Former member state Capital Development Authority (CDA), Brigadier (retd) Asad Munir, has committed suicide, police sources said on Friday.
Munir’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his apartment in Islamabad’s diplomatic enclave, the police sources said. He was also the former director of intelligence agency Peshawar.
Munir was upset over media reports that ran a day earlier stating that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during its executive board meeting had granted approval for the filing of a reference against him, family sources said. NAB had accused Munir of misusing his authority and restoring a plot in F-11 area of the federal capital.
His funeral will be held H-8 graveyard at 5:00pm today.
