Dr Shahbaz Gill visits Kot Lakhpat jail,meet Nawaz Sharif

Lahore : Spokesman to Chief Minister Punjab Dr. Shahbaz Gill has said that government is providing best treatment facilities to the former prime minister Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.
These views were expressed by Spokesman to CM Dr. Shahbaz Gill after meeting Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat Jail, with the media-men at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today.

On the directions of Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, a detail meeting has been held with Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Doctors of medical board including Prof. Dr. Shahid from Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Prof. Dr. Saqib Shafi from Mayo Hospital, medical officer Kot Lakhpat Jail Dr. Afsar and personal physician of Nawaz Sharif Dr. Adnan were present in the meeting.

During the meeting doctors discussed in detail about the medical reports of Nawaz Sharif and examined him. Jail doctors regularly examined Nawaz Sharif twice a day. All necessary medical facilities are available for the treatment of Nawaz Sharif in Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology and other major public sector hospitals however, willingness of the patient is required in this regard.

He said that government has offered Nawaz Sharif that either he get treatment from senior doctors or from the international doctors presently attending international conference in Pakistan or from his personal doctors from London. Nawaz Sharif has stressed to get treatment from his doctor settled abroad on which Punjab government has agreed to providing all possible cooperation if his doctors treat him in any public sector hospitals after coming to Pakistan. Government is ready to provide security to these doctors as well in such situation.

He said that according to former prime minister, he is waiting for his bail from court after that he want his treatment from abroad.

The spokesman said that he has given the message of Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister Punjab to Nawaz Sharif that as a Pakistani citizen and former prime minister all your legal right will be provided. He said that Prime Minister has given clear cut instructions that best treatment facilities should be provided to Nawaz Sharif according to law.

In response to a question, the spokesman said that government is writing a letter to Sharif Family regarding the treatment of Nawaz Sharif in which all these options will be discussed, however, government has nothing to do with judicial matters.

It may be added here that during 45 minute long meeting Nawaz Sharif apparently looked healthy. It should be remembered that Punjab government is providing all medical facilities permissible according to law to Nawaz Sharif.
