Lahore : California has won the most attractive and lucrative race of the horse racing industry Pakistan Derby Race 2019. The race held at Kot Lakhpat racecourse on Sunday (today).
The mare California is owned by Sohrab Khan who is
known for how to get his horse trained for big events. The rider Aftab easily lift the cup and Rs 7 Lakh cash prize due to flying horse “The California”.
Generation remained 2 and Golki Queen on 3 in the Pakistan Derby Race.
This year the field of derby race is filled with a dozen four-year-old Pakistan colt and fillies which were selected for the race in the recent trials race. But all eyes were set on California, which was believed to be the winner but Goleke Queen and Generation were not ruled out for their endurance in recent races.
California had nine runs with one win and four places and is the blood line of Dunhill Star and Quality Road. Its owner Sohrab Khan known it well how to get his horse trained for big events. With a support team of Aftab Chaudhary and Amjad Ali II, California might repeat the show it put on display at the trials race.
Goleke Queen, which had 15 runs with three wins and eight places, its owned by Ch Ghazanfar and prepared for the race by Ghulam Haider and Ghulam Abbas Shah.
Generation was with his six runs three wins and a place . Aamir Parvaiz and Shahid Rehman are the support team and is owned by Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood.
