PFA serves notice to Sting Energy Drink for not on-air the current advertisement

Lahore : The Punjab Food Authority has directed Sting Energy Drink for not on-air the current advertisement while serving notice to them here on Tuesday.

PFA has directed them to make necessary changes in their advertisement as per the standard of Punjab Food Authority.

The notice was served after hearing a case concerning TV commercial presented a wrong picture of the sting drink in TV Commercial while the ground reality is totally opposite of it.

DG PFA said that food authority already banned the sale of energy drinks across the province however, it is strictly prohibited to run those advertisements in which energy drinks are being promoted. He further said that the use of “energy drink” word for caffeinated drinks is completely banned and directed companies to use word “stimulant” instead of “energy”.

It is mandatory for all food manufacturers/marketers to seek the approval of the Punjab Food Authority on the contents of the Promotional Television

Commercials prior to broadcasting in order to avoid mislabeling, deception and misbranding.
