JAC stage protest outside Nawa -i-Waqt

Lahore : The Journalist Action Committee comprising of all the journalist bodies has staged protest outside Nawa-i-Waqt office . The demonstration led by Azam Ch ,Rana Azeem ,Shahzad Hussain Butt and others.

The protesters shouted slogans in favour of their demands and lashed out Nawa-i-Waqt administration which miserably failed to follow the footprints of late Majeed Nizami .

The speakers said Nawa-i-Waqt supposed to celebrate Platinum Jubilee  next year with excellent traditions set by its pioneer Hameed Nizami and his younger brother Majeed Nizami, the paper represented the Muslim community during freedom fight and later stood by democracy , faced dictatorship with marvelous courage , beared stoppage of ads but never held the salaries of  journalist and the staff members . Unfortunately , 4 years after the sad demise of Majeed Nizami , his adopted daughter Rameeza Nizami followed Zia Shahid , Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami rather Majeed Nizami and held paying salaries of staff .

Their protest for salaries surely hurting the soul of Majeed Nizami and burying the good repute of Nawa -i-Waqt. If she does not want to continue to publish the historical news paper , she has the right to close it but workers will not bear holding salaries for months anymore.

The protestors warned the management to immediately pay the salaries to staff or they will burn the newspaper and will stop its sale in Akhbar Market.
