Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the nation which had been looking for a new horizon with every change of government for the last seventy one years had been deceived by all the rulers in the past.
Addressing a convention of the JI Youth (women wing), at Aiwan e Iqbal, he said that the masses had by now judged the performance of the new government which had come into power with rosy promises, but had given nothing to the nation except price hike.
The others who addressed the convention included Dr Samiha Raheel Qazi, Begum Zar Afshan Farheen, A’mna Saqib, Rabia Tariq and Saima Abdul Quddus.
On the occasion, the JI chief demanded the establishment of an international women university, grant of interest free loans to the womenfolk and ensuring the grant of the inherited property to the womenfolk.
Sirajul Haq said the Prime Minister had given a new philosophy that a great and successful leader was the one who was expert of U-Turns. He said U-Turn implied not fulfilling ones promises. He questioned that if the leaders did not honour their promises, how could the world trust them.
He said that the PTI’s economic wizards were suggesting novel ideas to the Prime Minister for overcoming the economic crisis. However, he said, the very first step towards economic progress was promotion of literacy. He said if the Prime Minister had done something for the schooling of more than 25 million children still out of school, the nation would have been proud of him.
Continuing, Sirajul Haq said that dispensation of justice was essential for development. He said that if the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court guaranteed justice to the masses, the talented Pakistani people were capable of doing wonders.
He said it was surprising that the Prime Minister was not informed regarding the change of the rupee value. He said no nation in the world had progressed with the help of IMF and World Bank loans. He said that the nation could open the door of development only by depending upon and harnessing its own resources. He said the country had vast resources but these were in a few hands. However, he said if the rulers picked up the courage and adopted the Islamic economic system, Allah Almighty would fulfill His promise and shower unlimited resources on it.
Sirajul Haq said that like other sections of the society, the farmers had been disappointed by the present government. He said that for the last two days, the kisans had been on roads in protest but the government had not been able to force the sugar mills owners to start cane crushing.
The JI chief exhorted the women folk not to be impressed by the glamour of the western society, They should instead build their homes as fortresses of Islam and prepare their brothers and sons for playing a active role in the struggle for Islamic revolution.
