Punjab University signs MoU with Payame Noor University Iran

Lahore : Punjab University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Payame Noor University Iran for cooperation in the field of education, research and technologies. In this regard an MoU signing ceremony was held at PU Vice Chancellor’s office.

Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad, President Payame Noor University Iran Prof Mohammad Reza Zamani, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Director Alumni Dr Fouzia Hadi Ali and others were present.

According to MoU, both would facilitate the joint cooperation between the faculty members of the two universities in the field of developing educational resources of Persian Language and Literature and joint publications of the books. Both the universities would collaborate in the field of scientific publications hold educational courses.

Both would offer scholarships to the students to study in Iran and Pakistan and provide facilities to exchange professors and students.  Both the universities would also launch chairs related to Iranian studies and Persian Language and Literature.

Later, Punjab University Oriental College organized book launching ceremony of “Tarikh-e-Farishta” by Secretary Academy of Persian Language & literature, Iran Prof Dr Mohammad Reza Nasiri at Sheerani Hall, Old Campus. On this occasion President Payam e Noor University, Iran Prof Dr Mohammad Reza Zamani, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, heads of various department, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

The speakers lauded the work of Prof Nasiri and said that his creation was landmark contribution in the area.
