Lahore : The Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning & Development Punjab, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan visited Urban Unit to discuss development project for the next five years.
The meeting focused on Rahim Yar Khan Master Plan, World Bank’s Jobs and Competitiveness Project, Cities Planning and Punjab Spatial Strategy as a game changer for current government.
Salman Javed CEO (Acting) the Urban Unit and Abid Hussaini COO (Acting) briefed minister about the meeting agenda. The senior team of Unit presented GIS and MIS based projects and proposals including State Land Information Management System of Punjab and GIS for Land Record Management System.
Urban Unit proposed state Land GIS mapping system for all cities of Punjab because there is no spatial representation yet with any department. Further Urban Unit suggested 1 billing system for all properties and services with help of MIS system.
Minister Punjab asked for incremental cost benefit analysis for Lahore City as Pilot Project.
Dr. Salman Shah, Sr. Economist and Consultant Punjab Spatial Strategy presented the detail presentation on Punjab Spatial Strategy and Vision Pakistan 2047. He emphasized on the need to use CPEC wisely as technology and investment windows are open for us and Government needs to utilize it in time. He added that Pakistan to plan to become next Factory of the World.
