Punjab Food Authority closed down Butt Sweets and Shahi Murgh Channay

Lahore : The Punjab Food Authority under the supervision of DG Food Authority Captain (R) Muhammad Usman on Sunday closed down 2 breakfast points, while imposed fines to 9 breakfast points in Anarkali, Lakshmi Chowk and Walled City.

Butt Sweets, famous for its halwa puri, was sealed by the Authority as construction work was going on in the production unit. According to DG PFA, another famous breakfast point, Shahi Murgh Channay did not comply with previous warnings and instructions, and was therefore sealed immediately.

At Lakshmi Chowk, Butt Sweets, Tooba Restaurants, Munna Daal Channay, Al Ghani and Noorullah Bong Paye were fined; while Goga Naqeeba, Taya Lodhi, Karachi Nashta  and Yasir Nashta Point in Anarkali were fined.

DG PFA clarified that only those restaurants and food points who do not abide by the rules and previously issued warnings are sealed. He further stated that all breakfast points are being checked on a regular weekly basis, and that this is bringing a positive change in the standards of these breakfast points. Surprise checking and inspection visits are made in restaurants all throughout the province, he mentioned.

PFA teams are working and will continue to work hard in order to ensure better quality food for the public, and the act of checking food points will be practiced regularly, said DG Food Authority.
