Lahore : A delegation of Russian Federation called on punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here today and discussed matters pertaining to promotion of investment and cooperation in different sectors.
The delegation showed its interest in investment in safe city project, health, education and IT sectors. The delegation also extended invitation to the chief minister to visit Moscow.
Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said that Pakistan and Russian Federation enjoy friendly relations. Every required step will be taken to transform these relations in to useful economic contacts and the foreign investment will be welcomed. Best facilities will be provided to the foreign investors in the punjab so as to create new employment opportunities through investment, he added. Punjab government has decided to expand the scope of safe city project and reforms are being introduced in health and education sectors alongside. No society can move forward without the support of IT and that is why, we are desirous to further expand the information technology sector. The Russian collaboration, in this regard, would be welcomed, he added. The expression of interest by the Russian delegation is appreciative and necessary steps will be taken with speed to promote the bilateral cooperation. Traditional methods would not be employed now and rather, we will move forward with speed and practical steps will be taken to promote and enhance the mutual cooperation, he added.
The chief minister directed to constitute a high-level committee under the chair of chairman P&D to give its final recommendations in this regard.
The Russian delegation said that it wants to cooperate with the punjab government and is ready to invest in different sectors. The Russian delegation was led by Mr. Oleg Krylof. Yasir Hamid advisor to Russian Federation State Organization, consultant Dr. Nadia Zaheer, Ali Amir Malik MD Punjab Safe City Authority, CEO PBIT, chairman PITB and others were also present on the occasion.
