Lahore : Punjab Food Authority enforcement teams sealed 3 hotels and imposed heavy fines across the province for not following the PFA laws and previous instructions here on Wednesday.
According to the details, following the schedule of checking PFA watchdogs visited various hotels- ranging from 2 star to 5 star ranking hotels- across the Punjab province.
On account of unhygienic conditions, unavailability of medical certificates of food handlers and poor sanitation food storage area of Ambassador Hotel and kitchen area of Faletti’s Hotel were sealed.
While conducting operations in Faisalabad, Food Safety teams sealed kitchen area of Best Western Hotel over rusty freezers, uncovered food items and abundance of insects. Big earners of the food industry are always expected to do more when it comes to following the food safety laws, said DG Punjab Food Authority, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman Younis.
Heavy fines were imposed on Hotel One, The Nishat Hotel and Grand Palm Hotel for not complying with the PFA Act. PFA teams served warning notice to Hospitality Inn for improvement in the food safety conditions.
Marian Hotel, Mughal Mehal, and Bundu Khan in Gujranwala were served notices to improve the hygiene conditions in kitchen area. Moreover, Serena Hotel and Hotel One in Faisalabad, Ramada Hotel and Hotel One in Multan were also served notices to improve the hygiene conditions in kitchen area.
