Lahore : Provincial Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry has appreciated Punjab Food Authority Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman for busting the rackets of rotten eggs peddlers in a week across Punjab.
He was addressing the press conference held at Solid Waste Dumping Site, Lakhodair. On the occasion, DG Food Authority and higher-ups of the food regulatory body was also present. PFA discarded 130,000 million rotten eggs worth millions of rupees in the presence of officials and media persons.
Minister said that PFA has sealed all factories where egg powered was getting from rotten eggs. He said that the action was started against rotten eggs from Sheikhupura which expand in other cities of Punjab after this. So far, the authority has been discarded around 2.3 million putrid eggs. In a query, he said that they have taken action against hatcheries ad suppliers as per law. He further said that rotten eggs were being used only in the preparations of bakery items. He said that they have been maximum succeed to control the sale of rotten eggs.
Director General PFA Muhammad Usman said that PFA it would be ensured that the provision of quality food as per the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab for which concrete steps are being taken in the right direction and there is no delay in this regard. PFA teams is dynamically active against adulterators across the province. He said that the purpose of the discarding the substandard food especially eggs at dumping site is to ensure environment-friendly discarding.
