Minister Education suspends a teacher upon corporal punishment

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has taken notice of corporal punishment of a class three student Siemen of Govt. Boys High School 148/9L Sahiwal and has ordered to immediately suspend the teacher Abdul Hanan responsible for this act. He has also directed to initiate departmental action against him under PEEDA Act.

In a statement issued here today, the Minister said that corporal punishment is strictly prohibited in schools in Punjab province and added that teachers would also be sensitized about it in their departmental trainings.

He has also directed the CEOs of Schools Education Department to ensure that this ban is strictly implemented in their respective districts.
