Shahid Khaqan Abbasi challenged his disqualification in the court

Lahore : Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has challenged the Appealet Tribunal decision about his disqualification under 62 F1 in Lahore High Court but he was not as lucky as Fawad Ch to get immediate relief.

His lawyer Kh Tariq Raheem said that the Appealet Tribunal has not the powers to disqualify any candidate for life time.

The tribunal has the authority to accept or reject the appeal of any candidate against the decision of Returning Officer but He does not have authority to disqualify any candidate under article 62 F1.By disqualifying under the said article, the tribunal judge exceeded from his powers so the court suspended his decision and allow his client to contest in elections , the council pleaded.
