Respect for vote campaign would continue at any cost : Nawaz Sharif

Mandi Bahauddin ( Sher Gondal) : Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he would continue movement for restoring sanctity of vote and right of people to govern even if he goes to jail.

He was addressing PMLN workers convention here at Jinnah Stadium on Friday evening. He said he was not fighting for himself, but for the people of Pakistan. He said he was facing trial in many false cases just for the reasons that he worked for people and the country.

He said he did not fear and would remain strong to fight the battle and will never give in till sanctity of vote is restored. He said his opponents would realize soon what kind of person they had challenged. He said his opponent had planned to put me in jail but this would not deter him from continuing raising voice of the people. He said 25 July is D day.

He asked the workers and public at general to come out of house on this day and vote for PMLN. He said this would be referendum against the judgment under which the judiciary had disqualified him as PM. Before this he asked participants of the even to raise hands who were against this verdict. People raised hands to show their disapproval of the verdict.

Earlier Maryam Nawaz also addressed the meeting. She complained that her mother was sick and their request to the court for visiting her in England was refused by the court. She also asked workers to remain present at polling stations on 25 July to vote and to ensure election was being conducted in transparent manner.

She said PML-N would not allow any rigging of elections process and those violating election rules would be punished severely. Local PMLN leaders, Nasir Bosal, Mumtaz Tarar, and Hamida Wahid were present on the occasion. Strict security arrangements were put on ground to avoid any untoward incident.
