General Electric to shipped locomotives from December 2018

Lahore : Muhammad Javed Anwar, Chairman, Ministry of Railways, had a genial meeting with a delegation from General Electric (GE), USA on Thursday at Ministry of Railways. In June 2017, an indenture was awarded to GE for supply of 20 locomotives of 2000 horse power, in Complete Build Unit (CBU) form. These locomotives will tentatively be shipped from USA from March, 2019 to May, 2019 consequently. However delegate from GE, USA stated that 2 locomotives may be shipped in December 2018.

The meeting was also attended by Zubair Shafi Ghauri, Secretary Railway Board, Mazhar Ali Shah, DG Planning and Munawar Ali Shah, DG Technical.
