Chitral festival to kick off from May 3, 2018

Lahore : District Administration Chitral has decided to celebrate Chitral festival from May 3, 2018 and will revive the free style polo competition known as Mulki Cup Polo Tournament in its traditional style.

The festival has a long history and in the state of Chitral, free style polo and other local sports began in the period of His Highness Sir Shujaul Mulk, says a press release.

Renowned athletes of the area will take part in competition including wrestling, tug of war, javelin and arrow throwing, different kinds of short and long distance races and swimming.

Other features of the festival are the cultural activities and participation of people in different kinds of dances and music shows. The competitions and the cultural activities will be held at parade ground and polo ground Chitral and a large number of people are expected to take part in the festival and enjoy the competitions.
